Siena, Italy

The Piazza is quite large!
No visit to Italy is complete without a visit to the capital of the Tuscan province. Here you will find the Campo which is one of the most beautiful and remarkable squares in Italy. The town remains full of medieval character and there are almost no new buildings. Each year there is a famous festival here -  the famous Palio horseraces.  Alex ran up the stairs to the tower after waiting 45 minutes (and paying 8 Euro) in line as he didn't want to be late for our meeting time.  This is a view of the town from the tower.

I learned from the locals that the people in green are called "students"????

Apparently if the people in green don't do their homework, they get put in this contraption until they agree to do it and do it well!
