Visiting the Borghese Gallery and Museum. Cardinal Scipion was the son of Ortensia Borghese and was an avid art collector with the church's coffers. After visiting the Gallery I want to watch the Borghese series that has recently been on T.V.
On to another tourist site, The Spanish Steps: The Spanish Steps (138 of them) are the widest staircase in Europe and climb a steep slope between the Piazza di Spagna (Spanish Embassy to the Holy See) at the base and Piazza Trinità dei Monti,( church) at the top. It’s a place to stop and soak up the sun, people watch and tick it off the list of things to do and see in Rome.
uploading photos is proving to be a bit of a chore.....
After we left Rome, we rented a car and drove to Firenze (Florence) and are currently staying at the beautiful Villa Pandolfini. Managed to stay married after trying to navigate getting out of Roma! From our current location we have visited the town of Assissi and attended Sunday mass, met Sue and Des, saw Orvietto, toured through the Chianti district (wine!!) and saw Sienna. Will update more as we go, cheers to all.
Mary
