| Sacre-Coeur Basilica (The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus) |
Montmartre is a hill in the North of Paris and the home of the white-domed Basilica of the Sacre Coeur. The site of this Basilica is the site where Saint Denis was beheaded. According to legend, after St. Denis was beheaded/martyred, he picked up his severed head, carried it several miles to the north where he handed it to a woman and then dropped dead. That place is today is called Saint-Denis.
