Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney, Australia

Strolled through some of the Gardens (actual size is 30 hectares in area) where we saw clusters of Cockatiels, Flying Foxes, strangely rooted trees and of course beautiful gardens. In the evening we went to the Enmore Theatre to enjoy an exciting evening of Gypsy Band music- Taraf de Haidouks and Kocani Orkesta. It was very exuberant music and Alex commented that they were like a Newfie kitchen gathering but on a much grandeur scale.

Cockatiels all over the place

Flying Foxes

The Gardens are home to a colony of over 22,000 Flying Foxes (large species of fruitbat). The bats are responsible for killing dozens of trees and there is a plan to move the colony elsewhere.
